How We Protect You
Built into every booking. No extras, no asterisks.
Verified Members
Every member verifies their email and phone before they can book or list. Hosts and parkers can earn a Verified Member badge by uploading photo ID through our secure verification process. Anyone who breaches our Terms of Service through fraud, property damage, harassment, or illegal activity faces account suspension or termination. We retain booking records, communications, and Handover photos that can be provided to your insurer or law enforcement where required.
The Handover
Snap a photo when you arrive and another when you leave. It takes 10 seconds and creates a timestamped record of the space condition. Hosts use it to confirm the space was returned correctly. Parkers use it to show access was clear on arrival. Both sides are covered.
Booking Support
Up to AUD $1,000 if something goes wrong. If damage or a dispute arises during your booking, you can submit a reimbursement request. We'll review the evidence and may reimburse up to AUD $1,000 of your documented costs. It's included with every booking at no extra cost.
This doesn't replace your own insurance, keep your policy active. But it's an additional layer of support.
When Things Go Wrong
Most issues, access problems, space unavailable, are resolved in minutes with a direct message. Start there.
Refer back to your arrival and departure photos. Timestamped records help clarify what the space looked like and when.
If you and the host cannot resolve it, contact ParkingFinder support. We retain all booking records and can assist with escalated disputes.
Standards
The House Rules
A parking arrangement works when both sides hold up their end.
Park in the right spot
- Use the space you booked. Do not spill into neighbouring bays or driveways.
- Vehicle type accuracy matters. List or book what you are actually parking.
Access etiquette
- No subletting. Your booking is not transferable to another vehicle or person.
- Stick to the agreed hours. Early morning or late returns need to be confirmed with the host in advance.
The Handover
- Take your arrival photo before you settle in. Take your departure photo before you leave.
- Return access equipment, fobs, keys, remotes, as agreed with the host.
Insurance Responsibilities
Both hosts and parkers should maintain their own insurance. A parker's comprehensive car insurance covers the vehicle at a private space. A host's home and contents insurance is generally not affected by renting a driveway. The information on our insurance page is general in nature.
